State of Idaho v. Celaya

August 2019

Ms. Celaya was charged with felony grand theft by possession of stolen property in Elmore County Case No. CR20-18-1978. Along with her husband, she was found to be in possession of various stolen items. She faced a potential penalty of a minimum of 1 year and up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

Pursuant to a plea agreement with the State, Ms. Celaya pled guilty to misdemeanor petit theft. She received a "withheld judgment," was ordered to pay $307.50, and was placed on 12-months unsupervised probation. When Ms. Celaya successfully completes her period of unsupervised probation, upon a motion to the Court, her case will be dismissed.
